Property Appraiser Provides 2026 Tax Roll Preliminaries to Local Governments

West Palm Beach, FL – The Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office has submitted the 2026 preliminary tax roll to the Florida Department of Revenue and local taxing authorities throughout Palm Beach County. Countywide taxable property values increased 7.35% from 2025 to 2026, based on market conditions as of January 1, 2026.

The preliminary tax roll represents the total value of all real and tangible personal property within Palm Beach County and serves as the foundation for local government budget planning. Cities, municipalities, school districts, and other taxing authorities use these values to estimate revenues and establish proposed millage (property tax) rates for the upcoming fiscal year.

“No matter the outcome of the 2026 property tax ballot initiative, my office continues our constitutional duty to prepare values for all Palm Beach County properties based on market data,” said Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, CFA, AAS.

Highlights include:

  • Total Market value: $551,940,574,726
  • Total Taxable value: $368,160,674
  • Total Net New Construction Taxable: $5,466,868,927
  • Percent Increase (Taxable Value): +7.35%
  • Total Parcel Count: 662,126
  • Total Tangible Accounts: 57,383

Following approval of the tax roll by the Florida Department of Revenue, the Property Appraiser’s Office will prepare and distribute the 2026 Notices of Proposed Property Taxes and Non-Ad Valorem Assessments (TRIM Notices). Scheduled to be mailed on August 20, these notices provide property owners with information about their property's assessed and taxable values, proposed tax rates, and public hearing dates for the taxing authorities that levy property taxes.

The tax roll certification process helps ensure local governments have the information needed to develop budgets while providing property owners with the opportunity to review and understand their assessments before tax bills are issued. The final certification of the 2026 tax roll will occur before property tax bills are mailed on November 1.
